Vicente Gonzalez knows what it means to fight for a second chance. Raised in a military family, he earned his GED, worked his way through school, and eventually graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and Texas A&M School of Law. He went on to build a successful law practice in McAllen, where he stood up for working families and helped local schools recover millions in misspent tax dollars.
In Congress, Vicente brings that same determination to South Texas. He serves on the Committees on Financial Services and Foreign Affairs, where he works to expand opportunity, strengthen the economy, and keep America secure. He has been a strong advocate for veterans, cutting through red tape at the VA and leading bipartisan efforts to protect honorably discharged veterans from deportation.
Vicente is also focused on lowering prescription drug costs, protecting Social Security and Medicare, and delivering federal resources for schools, small businesses, and local communities. His approach is shaped by the values he learned from his parents: education, hard work, and a relentless drive to make life better for the families he represents.
Today, Vicente lives in McAllen with his wife, Lorena, a former educator and school administrator. Together, they remain committed to serving South Texas and building a future where every family has the opportunity to succeed.
