Born and raised in Merced, CA, Adam Gray grew up working in his family’s dairy supply business and saw firsthand how economic downturns hit working families. When the Great Recession struck, he ran for office to help rebuild his community.
Adam represented Merced and Stanislaus Counties in the California Assembly for a decade, where he founded the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus and earned a reputation for taking on tough fights—whether it was stopping Sacramento’s Water Grab, delivering billions in water infrastructure, or securing hundreds of millions to expand health care access through a new medical school at UC Merced.
He also advanced public safety and community priorities, funding anti-gang programs, cracking down on organized theft, extending the ACE train, and protecting small businesses and agriculture.
Today, Adam continues that work in Congress, bringing the same Valley-first mindset: community before politics, results before headlines. He lives in Merced, teaches at UC Merced, runs a small business, and keeps up the fight for water, jobs, and opportunity in the Valley.
