WASHINGTON—Florida Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and co-chair of the Blue Dog Coalition, took part in a hearing in Congress where she criticized the Trump Administration’s approach to fiscal discipline. At a Ways and Means hearing on the President’s budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year, Murphy questioned U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin on the Administration’s failure to acknowledge the threat of our growing debt.

WASHINGTON—Today, the Blue Dog Coalition announced its endorsement ofH.R. 129, No Budget, No Pay Act, which was authored by Congressman Jim Cooper (TN-05) and co-sponsored by several other Blue Dog members. No Budget, No Pay would prevent House and Senate members from receiving their salary if they miss annual deadlines for budget and appropriations bills, and they would not be paid retroactively.
