Josh Gottheimer represents North Jersey in Congress, where he’s known for cutting through partisanship and delivering results that matter. Raised in North Caldwell, he learned the value of hard work in his father’s family business and carried those lessons through a career that has spanned public service, the private sector, and now leadership in Washington.
Since first being elected in 2016, Gottheimer has established himself as a bipartisan problem-solver. He co-chairs the Problem Solvers Caucus, a group of Democrats and Republicans who work together on tough national issues, and has been consistently ranked one of the most bipartisan members of the House. His focus is simple: lower taxes, better infrastructure, safer communities, and affordable health care.
In Congress, he’s helped secure billions for New Jersey—funding for roads and bridges, investments in drinking water and flood protection, and resources for local police and firefighters through his bipartisan Invest to Protect Act. He’s fought to protect Social Security and Medicare, lower the cost of prescription drugs, and expand economic opportunity.
Gottheimer is also a strong advocate for veterans, first responders, and immigrants, and has stood firm on issues from women’s health to strengthening the U.S.–Israel alliance. He serves on the House Financial Services and Homeland Security Committees, where he works on national security, economic policy, and counterterrorism.
Josh lives in Wyckoff with his wife, Marla, and their two children, Ellie and Ben. Rooted in Jersey values, he continues to bring a pragmatic, results-driven voice to Congress on behalf of families across his district.
